Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When does soccer start?

Beginning in 2023, PLSC will begin in April. The older divisions will begin training sessions for the first few weeks until final team selections are finished late April. Younger divisions will begin late April.

What equipment is required?

All players must have shin guards and the guards must be completely covered with long socks. Soccer shoes are recommended but runners are acceptable. No sandals will be allowed on the field. The soccer club will provide soccer jerseys. All jewelry must be covered.

Where do we park at Phantom Soccer Field?

Parking at Phantom Soccer Field is in the designated area. Do not park in the entrance/driveway area or on any sanctioned green space.

Do I have to volunteer if my child is in U5?

Yes, all players in all divisions are required to have 4 hours of volunteer time completed.

My child is on the travel soccer team and does not want to play house league. Is that allowed?

No, every player is to play house league. If they do not play house, they will not be allowed to play on travel. House league comes first! All rosters for travel are approved by the board.

What do I do if I do not want my child's picture to be posted on the website?

Both parents or guardians need to disclose-at the beginning of the season and in writing, that they do not want the child's picture taken or posted. If you do not want the child's picture posted but taken with the team, a sticker will be placed over the child's face when it is released.

Is soccer cancelled?

In the event of unfavourable weather PLSC will cancel league games
In order to cancel games there is protocol as well as criteria that must be met:

Criteria and Automatic cancelation:
Standing water, safety hazard
Snow covered fields
Light snow with a wet field underneath
Lightning at any time, one bolt is enough to call the game
